I must admit it has been some time since I have deviated from the medium of photography. However in an effort to broaden my artistic horizons (and quell a little boredom) I have picked up the sketch pad again. Watch for posts in the pen and ink section beginning tomorrow.

I stumbled upon an interesting article that states “the first question that every photographer must answer is why.”
More often than not, the question is how or what, not why. How did you take that photograph? How did you expose it? What camera did you use? What film? What lens?
As an artist, the important question is not who, what, when or where, but why…
Why did you make this photograph? Why did you use that particular camera, lens and film? Why is this photograph important? Why does anyone care?
