There Are No Good Photographs Of Britney Spears

britney spears allure coverPDN felt the need to write about Britney, so I don’t feel like such a schmuck bringing it up. Things have gotten way out of hand. At left is a “likeness” of Britney Spears. If you’ve seen any photographs of Ms. Spears lately, you know that this “likeness” is in no way shape or form even remotely close to what the woman looks like these days. Fact is that there are no good pictures of Britney Spears anymore, because the girl looks like ten miles of bad road all the time.

Quite frankly, I’m not sure why anyone is surprised that she finally went off the deep end. Southern girl, sings a few songs, puts on a Catholic school girl’s outfit, makes a boat load of money, marries a loser, divorces said loser, makes out with Madonna, marries another loser, has a few kids, divorces second loser, all the while developing a nose candy problem, don’t we know how this story ends?

Tragic lives of mediocre stars aside, given the current state of Britney, how can we refer to the cover of Allure as a picture of her? When does a photograph stop being a photograph?

How far will the retouching really go? I’m no advocate for truth in advertising, but at some point, even the most mentally inept teenagers will catch on. After all, the pictures of this woman showing her true trailer trash colors far out number the computer generated artistry the we see here.

This is not a photograph, this is not a picture. This is a computer illustration. An illustration by a talented young artist. Kudos to you, Photoshop guru, wherever you are.

The question is, is this really what popular photography has been reduced to?

I think it’s only a matter of time before Britney runs over a photographer and kills ‘em. What happened to that sweet old Britney we used to know and love?

  2. Joseph Szymanski Says:

She’s always been trailer trash, and you can’t put lipstick on a pig.

  3. Jane G. Says:

Poor Britney! As Chris Crocker would say “Leae Britney Alone!” :)

In all seriousness, remember when Madonna was young a getting in trouble all the time? She got herself back together and now is all in one piece and making millions every year. Give britney the benefit of the doubt. She may come back and surprise you.

  4. Joseph Szymanski Says:

Madonna wasn’t turning out kids like it was going out of style while putting enough coke up her nose to make her resemble River Phoenix in his latter days.

Lest us not forget the most important fact, that Madonna did in fact have talent.

  5. Britney Spears fan Says:

    Yes

It seems photography has reduced and degraded…

    And its a shame.

I do believe and hope that Britney will come up again as a stronger person as Jane G. says.

    Just a matter of time…………..

  6. B Harness Says:

I’m reminded of Britney when I see Hannah Montana now. She’s already being sexualized in the same way Britney was at a young age. If she uses Britney as an example, things can get way out of control real fast. I hope her parents are paying attention.

  7. Britney Spears Groupie Says:

Ok, I would agree that there are some good Photoshop-manipulated images of Britney out there. Actual raw photos caught of her in public, understandable, tend to be not all that flattering.

  8. Joseph Szymanski Says:

“Photoshop Manipulated” sounds like the understatement of the century. I refer you to the latest post, I can tell when you’re faking it.

  9. Bo Osgood Says:

With actions like hair trimming, raunchy videos, wedding failures or just another pop single there is a great deal happening about her. You can not help but notice her. Lately many people have become her number 1 devotee and can not get too much gossip or articles about Britney’s media coverage. The media age is her opportunity for money but will it be her ruin with way too much coverage and exposure. In fact I reckon that this post and my remark are the selfsame pressure I talked about.
